Definitely not how any of us expected the final YDL lower comp of the season to end. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt and everyone helped out where they could. We certainly didn’t imagine this is being the final event instead of the relays! 🌪️ Well done to all the athletes who managed to compete before we had to finish early. At least this is a match no one will forget! Huge thanks to all the officials, managers, coaches, volunteers, athletes and supporters who helped at this match and all others this season. Final YDL Lower was at home today! Fantastic competition although a mini tornado was not quite the end to this seasons YDL we had imagined! Huge thanks to all those who helped when the wind picked up and thoughts are with those injured and/or upset by this unusual event! 🌪️ Despite the competition being cut short our athletes still had a great day and as always thanks to all those who volunteer, coach, manage, facilitate and officiate, without their help the competitions just can’t go ahead. 🔵 Parkrun Tourism – April 🔵 The months are passing too fast so apologies for the delay in posting April’s tourism! It was another full month for our members running and/or volunteering at various parkruns from England and Wales to the USA. 🏴🏴🇺🇸 A key milestone was Jasper completing his 100th parkrun! 🎉 He celebrated this achievement by running at Dartford alongside other members who ran/volunteered! A lovely was to celebrate with fellow Hoops! 🧡 Highlight for April has to be our parkrun Queen, Tereza, volunteering at Mote Park marking her debut as VI guide runner! What a fantastic experience!
