🔵 KYAL 2026 🔵 Yesterday was the start of the KYAL for the younger athletes at Medway. Our U14 and U16 athletes had a fantastic day with many gaining new PBs and finishing in top 3 positions! We also had new members competing for the 1st time! 👏 As always our team spirit was strong! We love how our athletes help each other warm up and get ready for their events and then cheer the loudest! With our parents and other family members cheering on we are certainly one of the loudest clubs! 📣 Thank you as always to our officials and coaches who give up their time to support all the athletes. 🔵 YDL Upper 2026 🔵 Last weekend was the start of the YDL for the upper athletes at Tonbridge. Unfortunately we didn’t have a huge team however our U18 and U20 athletes who did compete had a great day with many gaining new PBs and finishing in top 3 positions! We may have been small in numbers but we were strong in team spirit! 📣 Huge thanks as always to our officials who give up their time to support all the athletes. We had 8 in total at this match (not all in the photo) which is fantastic. It was great to be back outdoors competing as a club. Looking forward to the next match at Medway 24th May. 🔵 Parkrun Tourism – March 🔵 Our members enjoyed parkrun tourism in March, both running and/or volunteering. 🧡 Special mention has to go to our young athlete Zach who ran his final junior parkrun due to him celebrating his 15th birthday and no longer able to run them. Zach will continue running the 5k parkruns on Saturdays however he will miss the Sunday junior parkruns, although he may continue to attend as a volunteer when he can. Zach was introduced to our athletic club after making friends at a junior parkrun. This highlights the close relationship our members have with parkrun and how they can compliment each other. 🔵 DHAC 2026 Easter Egg Collection 🔵 Wishing everyone a very HOOOPY Easter! 🐰🐣 A huge thank you to our amazing members who this year donated an egg cracking 84 easter eggs, 4 boxes of chocolates and 8 packs of small easter eggs to Darent Valley Hospital (DVH). Our Club President Gurpreet and Club Secretary Loraine dropped them off. Half were delivered to the Paediatric ED, with the other half being given to the Dementia Specialist Nurse to distribute to the Hospitals elderly patients. DHAC love supporting our local community. 🔵 DHAC 2025 Awards 🔵 On Friday we held an evening celebrating our 2025 club award winners. It was a fun way to get together off the track to socialise and celebrate each others achievements. 🤩 We also held an athletic related quiz, spot the athletes from baby/younger pics, correctly guess the closest to where GB’s Jonathan Edwards jumped the triple jump World record of 18.29m in 1995 and an epic paper aeroplane contest (who knew that could be quite so competitive 😂)! It was a fun evening and we are already looking forward to celebrating our 2026 winners when the season ends! 😁 Huge thanks to our fantastic committee for giving up so much of their time to prepare and host the evening and for our awards committee for selecting and managing the awards. 🙌 A list of our winners is in the comments. 👏 Go Hoops! 💙🩵 ———————–
