Track Rules

DUE TO SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIREMENTS, ALL ATHLETES ATTENDING THE ARENA MUST PRE-BOOK, EITHER VIA THEIR COACH OR THE DARTFORD HARRIERS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (SEE “CONTACT US” PAGE OF THIS WEBSITE).

ATHLETES WILL BE ALLOCATED SPECIFIC ZONES OF THE TRACK & FIELD, AND GROUPS MUST NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM PERMITTED NUMBER.

THEREFORE ANY ATHLETE ATTENDING THE TRACK MUST BE PART OF AN APPROVED MEMBER OF A RECOGNISED DARTFORD HARRIERS COACHING GROUP IN ORDER THAT WE CAN COORDINATE THESE GROUPS

Additional Rules During Coronavirus Pandemic:

  1. Athletes are responsible for their own safety. Parents/guardians/athletes are advised to bring a first-aid kit in case of incident, hand sanitiser, and their own water/refreshments.
  2. Parents/guardians who remain present for a session should observing social distancing.
  3. Athletes should not train if they are feeling unwell.
  4. Some activity types may be restricted due to safety or difficulties with social distancing or disinfecting/accessing equipment.
  5. Athletes must adhere to instructions and health & safety guidance, including social distancing measures, throughout all sessions.
  6. Regular hand sanitising before/during/afterwards is advised. 
  7. Members are asked not to congregate before or after training.
  8. Any non-compliance will result in exclusion.

In order to ensure the safety of all members please ensure you adhere to the following club rules when using the track.

  1. No training in Lane 1
  2. Where possible, walk or jog recoveries on the outside of the track
  3. Always look left and right before crossing the Track
  4. No group to use more than 3 lanes at any time, excluding starting practice
  5. Never cross the throwing field inside the ropes or without checking if it is in use
  6. All throws to be made from the proper throwing area in the correct direction
  7. Young athletes (u18′s) must be supervised by a qualified adult when undertaking any field event
  8. Any equipment placed on the track or field should only be moved by the person using it
  9. All equipment that has been borrowed must be returned in the same condition it was borrowed
  10. Always be considerate of other athletes
  11. Athletes should not warm up in a clockwise direction on the track at anytime on club nights, & at all times avoid using the home straight, but may use any other free area including the high jump fan. Athletes should not congregate around the finish line or lanes around the bottom bend
